Last night was good. There on the church lawn we lit the Christmas tree and we unveiled the new parts of our ever-expanding nativity scene. This has become a lovely tradition which many in the neighbourhood around 800 Burnhamthorpe look forward to. It was so good to watch the church and the neighbours share its meaning together.
One of my particular joys is seeing friends inviting new friends. That happened again last night. It reminds me how the love of Jesus expands in circles, like ripples expanding out from a stone's ploosh into the water. If we are willing to allow ourselves to be a thrown stone, interesting things will happen!
Thanks to all who worked so hard on building, decorating, planning, leading carols, singing, taking photos, providing refreshments, serving, hosting craft tables, and cleaning up. Your gifts were appreciated by all.
