Jesus came saying, “The kingdom of God is near.” When we pray, “Your kingdom come,” what are we asking for? We are asking that Jesus’ rule as king would come in us, through us, among us. One day that rule will be complete, but for now Jesus extends his rule one heart at a time. He’s creating a culture that is counter to the surrounding society. How does he make his culture in, through and among us?
