Jesus said, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick” (Matthew 9:12).
We live in a province where 14.7% of the population lacks a primary physician. If you don't have a doctor, it's not a problem if you are not presently sick, but it becomes a big problem if and when you do get sick. Knowing that everyone gets sick, the policy goal is for everyone to have access to primary care. Jesus made the statement above to those who did not know they needed a spiritual doctor, because they were “righteous.” That is a big problem, bigger than not having a primary physician. Because of the pervasiveness of sin, we all need a spiritual physician. The only question is whether we are willing to admit it.
Prayer – Jesus, great physician, heal my sin-sick soul!
