Father, we pray for the people of Ukraine today.  Some days it is hard to pray; forgive us, Father. The war has not gone the way anyone predicted; it has gone on a long time now. We see such strength of resistance among the Ukrainian people and we thank you for giving them the strength to resist. Yet now the missiles grow larger and the threat of greater destruction increases. Father, please end this war.

We pray for the people of Donbas living under occopation. Please preserve their lives. Please give them hope so they can hold on to their faith.  Keep them safe, Father God, in such difficult days.

We pray for those displaced by the war; give them food, give them shelter, give them hope. We pray that they would not be forgotten, but that you would keep us aware of their needs.

Father, the God of the downtrodden, we turn to you.

Amen.
